About Us
First Baptist Church North Houston has been in the North Aldine area of Harris County for over 50 years. It was formerly known as Freeway Forest Baptist Church and changed to its current name in the mid 1980’s. Ours is a strong heritage that has had an impact on several different generations. Our goal is to continue having an impact that lifts up the Person of Jesus Christ.
While we tend to lean to more of a traditional style of worship, our members are also involved in seeking to be more contemporary and inclusive. Currently, FBCNH is a ”blended” community of worshippers who are focused upon the Preeminence of Christ and who take seriously the biblical command of Hebrews 10:25: “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing…”
Our services and Bible Study groups include all age groups and, we have an active Children’s Church that is available for Children in the 1st grade through 5th grade age group. Our extended session is geared towards children who are Kindergarten and under. We have an active Youth group that is seeking to disciple and mold young people into responsible believers.
On an Associational level, we are dually aligned with the Union Baptist Association (UBA) and the South Texas Baptist Association (STBA).
Directions
FBC North Houston is very close to Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). If you are approaching the airport area from Beltway 8 you will simply turn South on John F. Kennedy Blvd. away from the airport. If you are coming from Interstate 45, turn to the right. If you are coming from Highway 59, turn to the left. Stay on JFK until you come to Lauder Road. It is just under 2 miles (1.8miles). Turn left (East) and the church is on your right.
From highway 59, you can take the Lauder Road exit and turn west (by Brookside Cemetery). If you are traveling north, turn to the left under the underpass; if you are traveling south, turn to the right. The church is 1.1 mile west of Highway 59.
